Surface Finishing Services: From Production to Perfection

We provide a full range of surface finishing services to enhance appearance, performance, and durability for both metal and plastic parts, from single prototypes to high-volume production .

Surface Finishing Services

We don’t just make parts, we enhance their appearance, performance and durability through a variety of treatments. Here are our key post-treatment services:

Anodising : Star Rapid is an expert in anodising aluminium, magnesium or titanium. Anodising helps resist corrosion, increases surface hardness, improves wear resistance and dissipates heat. It is also an ideal finish for painting and priming with the same great look.

Painting: using the finest PPG automotive polyester paints, we can replicate virtually any colour, shade or gloss. Our master spray painters can provide millions of colours in matte, flat, semi-gloss or gloss finishes.

SOFT TOUCH SPRAY PAINT: Almost any surface, whether plastic or metal, can be coated with a soft touch paint. This type of paint provides a matte, non-slip texture while blocking glare and hiding fingerprints.

Colour Matching: We use state-of-the-art colour spectrophotometers to carry out accurate surface colour, hue and reflectance measurements to ensure that our colour samples are an exact match to your specifications.

Pad Printing and Screen Printing: Pad printing is a method of embossing simple text and graphics onto a hard rubber block, whereas screen printing is suitable for applications with more complex images or multiple colours.

Sanding and Polishing: Sanding is used not only for paint preparation but also to create the final finish. We can provide brushed and satin effects on metals and create optically clear polishes on clear plastics.

Vapour polishing: Vapour polishing is a specialist treatment used to create optically clear polycarbonate (PC) plastics. This method can also be used to repair minor surface defects.

Sandblasting: Sandblasting is the spraying of some type of abrasive media onto a workpiece. It is used to clean and deburr parts while preparing them mechanically and chemically for subsequent surface preparation.

Starting Your Project
